KOTA KINABALU: – Newly formed Gabungan Artis Seni Tempatan Sabah (GASTS) will focus on providing assistance and support in safeguarding the welfare and interests of local artists in the state.
It’s president Sitim Bandaron said the association’s members have united to persevere in the local entertainment industry.
“This is particularly crucial in addressing issues concerning artists and singers within the KDM community,” he said in a statement.
According to Sitim, the newly registered association by the Sabah Registrar of Societies (ROS) aims to unite artists in the state.
Furthermore, he said it aims to continuously organise vocal workshops and songwriting workshops.
“We also aspire to hold music workshops and help discover new talents as well as polish existing talents.
“We also plan to organise traditional music workshops and everything related to the arts,” he said.
Sitim, veteran Dusun singer and musician, received GASTS’ registration from State Registrar of Society officer Sahrizan Sellaazizianna Achmat recently.
