KOTA KINABALU : – In a significant development amidst ongoing investigations by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Haji Noor has firmly established his innocence regarding allegations of corruption related to mining prospecting licenses in Sabah.

On April 10, during a Press conference following a media dialogue session, Tan Sri Azam Baki, the MACC chief commissioner, stated that Hajiji had voluntarily provided his statement to the commission as part of its probe into eight Sabah assemblymen allegedly involved in illicit pay-offs linked to the issuance of mining licenses.

Importantly, Azam confirmed, ‘Rest assured he is not involved in this case,’ reinforcing the Chief Minister’s commitment to transparency and accountability.

The MACC’s investigation focuses on safeguarding the integrity of governance in the state, ensuring that all actions related to mining licenses are conducted lawfully and ethically.

Through his cooperation with the MACC, Hajiji Noor demonstrates his unwavering dedication to uphold public trust and dispel any doubts regarding his administration’s integrity.

In light of these developments, it is important for the public to focus on facts rather than unsubstantiated claims.

The Chief Minister’s proactive engagement with the MACC serves as a testament to his leadership and commitment to addressing any concerns regarding corruption within the state.

As the investigation unfolds, citizens are encouraged to stay informed and supportive of efforts to maintain a corruption-free Sabah, ensuring that its natural resources are managed responsibly and for the benefit of the people of Sabah.
