Salleh…UMNO is poised for a strong comeback as the true voice of the people
SEMPORNA : – UMNO Semporna is making bold strides to reestablish itself as a key political force on Sabah’s east coast.
Speaking at the inaugural Radu Tatap Radu (RTR) gathering with the party machinery in Kampung Terusan Baru, Pulau Bum Bum, Semporna, Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak emphasised the party’s renewed commitment to the people.
“Under the leadership of Abdul Manan Indanan, UMNO Semporna is determined to regain public trust and champion local issues through a more people-centric and inclusive approach,” said Salleh, who also serves as Treasurer for both Barisan Nasional Sabah and Sabah UMNO.
He acknowledged that UMNO once stood as the political backbone of Semporna but faced significant challenges following shifts in political dynamics and leadership.
Abdul Manan Indanan, Head of UMNO Semporna, expressed confidence in the party’s resurgence.
“Today, with renewed spirit and growing grassroots support, UMNO Semporna is poised for a strong comeback as the true voice of the people.
“UMNO’s struggle never ended. We are not here to dwell on the past, but to offer fresh hope for a better future in Semporna,” he added during the RTR launch,” he said.
UMNO Semporna is focusing on balanced development, increased support for fishermen and farmers, and greater educational and economic opportunities for the younger generation.
With the rallying call “UMNO Rises, The People Rise,” Manan and his new leadership team are determined to restore the party’s strength and position it as the top choice for voters in the next general election.
Also present at the gathering were Datuk Ir. Aziz Julkarnain, Political Secretary to the Sabah UMNO Head, as well as local party and community leaders.
