Keningau to host the first Dusunic Sabah Carnival in August

KOTA KINABALU : The Sabah Dusunic Languages Preservation Association plans to hold the Dusunic Sabah Carnival at Apin-Apin, Keningau next month.

The association’s president, Datuk Lawrence Gimbang, stated that the event aims to promote and preserve Dusunic culture in the state.

He said the carnival also seeks to encourage the use of the Dusunic language to ensure that this local heritage does not fade away with time.

Gimbang noted that the Dusunic Sabah Carnival in Keningau will feature activities such as speech competitions, poetry, cultural attire, and Dusunic language workshops.

He made these remarks after chairing a meeting of the Dusunic Languages Preservation Association of Sabah, here today.

Gimbang added that the Dusunic Sabah Carnival program will be expanded to other districts, including Ranau soon.

Additionally, he mentioned that the association will organise a Dusunic Language Workshop in Bongawan also in August.
