Priscella Peter urges Sabah folk to ‘wake up” and demand change

Priscella …the upcoming state election is the best time to change the present State Government.

KIMANIS : – The Acting President of the Community Democratic Welfare Party (KDM), Priscella Peter, calls on the people of Sabah to rise and demand a change in the state administration due to the failure of the GRS government, which she claims has only made empty promises.

She stated that the sweet promises made are merely rhetoric aimed at gaining public support.

“For instance, issues regarding roads and water supply persist. Similarly, job opportunities are lacking, forcing many of our youth to migrate to other states in search of work, with some even seeking employment abroad.

“Is this the government we desire? Many promises have been made but remain unfulfilled… that is why we need to change this situation, and the decision lies in our hands,” she said.

Priscella made these remarks while speaking at the launch event for the KDM Election Machinery for the Bongawan state constituency, near here today.

Also present at the event were KDM Deputy President Datuk Wetrom Bahanda, two vice presidents, Dr. Gaim James Lunkapis and Dr. Oswald Aisat, Secretary-General Willie Jude, KDM Kimanis Division Chief Remy Anthony, KDM Bongawan Coordinator Peter Matinjal, AMT members, and the coordinators of the state constituencies.

Priscella stated that the large presence of KDM supporters at the launch event is an early indication that the people across the state desire change.

“And the upcoming state election is the best time to realize it.

“We, the children of Sabah, including the youth, need to rise to correct this,” she said.

Priscella mentioned that even though Datuk Peter Anthony is no longer part of KDM’s leadership, it does not weaken the party’s spirit to continue fighting for the interests and rights of the people of Sabah.

As the acting president of KDM, Priscella expressed that she has no intention of pursuing personal interests.

“In this matter, I greatly appreciate the trust given by the KDM supreme council members to continue the legacy of fighting for the welfare of the people of Sabah,” she said.

Earlier, Wetrom, who is also the Director of KDM’s Election Machinery, announced Peter Matinjal as the party’s prospective candidate for the Bongawan constituency in the upcoming state election.

He also confirmed that KDM will contest in 38 state assembly seats in the election.

“We are still reviewing several more seats and will make a decision after the assembly is dissolved,” he said, while urging all KDM coordinators to promptly organize strategies and enhance preparations as the assembly may be dissolved at any time,” he added.
