Sabah polls: Warisan to contest all 73 seats

Incumbent Darell gives way to Terrence Siambun in Moyog.

KOTA KINABALU : – Warisan president Datuk Seri Panglima Mohd Shafie Apdal said the party will be contesting all 73 seats.

Deputy President Datuk Darell Leiking, however, decides to opt out.

Leiking has opted out of the Sabah state election, paving the way for vice-president Terrence Siambun to contest the hot seat of Moyog.

In announcing its bid for all 73 state seats, Shafie said he will defend Senallang in Semporna .

Apart from Darell, incumbent Silam assemblyman Dumi Masdal was replaced by Datuk Mohammad Yusof Apdal, the Lahad Datu MP.

Kota MP Isnaraisah Munira Majlis will contest the Usukan seat held by Sabah Barisan Nasional’s Datuk Salleh Said Keruak.

Another vice-president, Junz Wong, will defend Tanjung Aru, a constituency also contested by Sabah DAP Deputy Chairman Chan Foong Hin.

Other Warisan leaders who are not contesting in this election are Secretary-General Loretto Padua Jr and Information Chief Azis Jamman.

Several young leaders in their 30s and 40s are part of the new intake, with women well represented across the line-up.

Shafie stressed experienced leaders would continue to play a key role by mentoring the younger candidates.
