KOTA KINABALU: A Sabah political activist says it is important to acknowledge the commendable achievement of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) government for recording the highest ever level of revenue, amounting to RM 6.3 billion last year.

Datuk James Ligunjang said this remarkable feat deserves credit and recognition, especially considering the challenges faced in improving the management and revenue collection in the state.

“Having sufficient funds is crucial for a state like Sabah, as it requires significant developments in basic services to improve the quality of life for its citizens,” the former Petagas assemblyman said in a statement here today.

Ligunjang added that with the availability of funds, it enables the state government to allocate resources towards critical areas such as healthcare, education, tourism, and environmental conservation.

These sectors play a vital role in fostering sustainable development and enhancing the well-being of the people.
