Cooperative to assist media practitioners venturing into business

Fardy Bungga

KOTA KINABALU: The newly established Sabah Journalists Cooperative aims to provide long-term benefits to media practitioners in the state.

Its chairman, Fardy Bungga, said that its establishment was driven by several factors, including the struggling media industry due to the previous threat of COVID-19, which resulted in many media practitioners in the state losing their source of income.

According to him, the Sabah Journalists Cooperative will serve as a platform for media practitioners to venture into business and diversify their sources of income for a more secure future.

“For now, we are still studying and planning the business scope that we want to pursue, and we invite media practitioners to join the Sabah Journalists Cooperative,” he said.

Fardy made these remarks when we met at his open house event in Inanam on Wednesday.

He also expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (MEDAC), led by Datuk Ewon Benedick, for their assistance in realising the establishment of the cooperative.
