LOIs sealed to foster innovation and progress in vital sectors

LABUAN : Two significant Letters of Intent (LOIs) between the Creative Advanced Machine Intelligence Research Centre, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (CAMIRC-UMS), and esteemed partners were sealed Tuesday.

The signing of document of agreements marks a pivotal moment in advancing technological solutions in various sectors in Sabah.

Held at the campus of UMS Faculty of Computing and Informatics, the event witnessed the collaboration between CAMIRC-UMS and MQuest Pte Ltd & MQuest Sdn Bhd, as well as with Allyssa Certification Sdn Bhd (ACSB).

The first LOI document signed was between CAMIRC-UMS and MQuest to confirm their interest to jointly  enhance healthcare ICT solutions by integrating cutting-edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, and Cybersecurity.

This collaboration aims to develop interoperable Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HISMM) models, catering to the healthcare industry’s evolving needs.

MQuest’s expertise in inventory management, smart scales, and Real-Time Location System (RTLS) technology complements this initiative, promising advancements in healthcare technology.

The second LOI between CAMIRC-UMS and ACSB focuses on the application of health-tech, HISMM, Agri-tech, and Aqua-tech-based ICT solutions. By integrating Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, and Cybersecurity technologies, the partnership aims to develop Global Carbon Infrastructure in the BIMP-EAGA Region and innovative solutions for renewable energy.

Additionally, the collaboration seeks to initiate research and development proposals to secure research funds, fostering advancements in various sectors.

The LOI ceremony was attended by key delegates, including Dr Raymond Alfred, Rayyan Radzwill Abdullah, and  Lim Boon Seng, along with Associate Professor Ts. Dr Mohd Hanafi Ahmad Hijazi and Professor Ts. Dr. Rayner Alfred.

ACSB’s services encompass project and program development related to Green and Blue Economy, Climate & Energy, Food & Nature-Tourism, and People-Community, aligning with the collaborative objectives outlined in the LOIs.

The commitments outlined in the LOIs are poised to bring about positive impacts in the future for all parties involved.

The collaboration signifies a significant step towards strengthening partnerships between local and international industries and a Malaysian institution in the realms of Green and Blue Economy, renewable energy, and healthcare.

The collaboration is expected to support initiatives such as the Sabah Maju Jaya program and BIMP-EAGA, fostering innovation and progress in these vital sectors.
