No more hardcore poor in Sabah: Hajiji

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor signing the plaque in conjunction with the launching of the pilot project at Jalan Ongkilan, Kota Marudu today.

KOTA MARUDU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor announced that Sabah has successfully achieved its target to eliminate hardcore poverty in July this year.

“Due to the commitment from all, which is in line with the aspirations of the Madani government  and  Sabah  Maju  Jaya  Development  Plan  1.0  (2021-2025),  I  wish  to announce we had succeeded in eliminating the hardcore poor in the locked figure list on July 31, 2024,” he said.

Speaking at the launching of the padi cultivation pilot project at Kampung Ongkilan here today, the Chief Minister said cooperation from GLCs like Sawit  Kinabalu has helped the State Government efforts to eliminate hardcore poor in the state.

“I hope the GLCs will continue to provide job opportunities to our youths. This will undoubtedly  help  the  state  government  through  the  SMJ  Secretariat  and  Sabah Development Office endeavour to end hardcore poverty,” he said.
