Take a leaf from millionaire Elon Musk, patronise fast food joint, ride the bus
The rich guy Elon Musk is known to ride the bus or the subway, or patronise a fast food joint on his own to get a feel of what’s real and see things at the level of lesser mortals.
I think the many geniuses in our midst holding lofty positions can take a leaf from Mr Musk so that they don’t allow their ego to be so overy massaged that they become tone deaf to public sentiments and lost touch with what’s real.
Look at our roads.
After a period of rain, pot holes emerged like wild mushrooms, as usual, the might ministers are waiting for tik tok to alert them.
Are we the only people whose roads go bad after rain? Is road upkeep a deep science that Sabah engineers haven’t learnt?
I think a bit of Musk-like ground level visit should be helpful.
Sabah doesn’t have that many roads.
A simply drive-around in their taxpayer-assigned limo should bring our ministers close to where the problems are clear.
There’s no need to swear commitment or allow netizens a field day mocking the incompetence of the ministers, or the PWD, or the trilliin-dollar Road maintenance contractors.
We don’t have the likes of Musk. Let’s be honest … even if we have such, they are unlikely to want to work in the low-IQ cesspool we have.
So, our best hope is that our government geniuses become aware that, we may not be clever enough to create, but we must not be so uselessly kia su that we find it demeaning to emulate.
If you’re bodoh, then learn to copy lah!
