Never mind being called ‘a mosquito party”, KDM ready to enter the PRN17 ring

Priscella Peter…confident KDM will be part of the government after PRN17, dominantly or as a ‘kingmaker’ that will influence the formation of the government

KOTA KINABALU: The Democratic People’s Welfare Party (KDM) is now fully prepared to face the 17th State Election (PRN17), which is set to take place soon.

Its acting president, Priscella Peter, expressed confidence that KDM will be the people’s choice, despite being viewed as a small party by some in the upcoming PRN17, especially given the current political climate in Sabah.

She said that numerous issues have arisen in Sabah at this time, compounded by the public sentiment that favours local parties.

“There’s no need for me to elaborate in detail; everyone is aware of the pressing issues in Sabah right now, which only fuels the anger of the people who are burdened by development issues. It’s like ‘adding fuel to the fire’.”

“Moreover, we can observe the current public sentiment; you hear it everywhere and see it on social media: the people want local parties, and this is what we offer to the public. KDM is the local party that will operate independently in the upcoming PRN17.

“Yes, we may be seen as a small party, but we are ready (to face PRN17),” she stated when met today.

Priscella mentioned that KDM will contest at least 38 DUN seats in the upcoming PRN17, with several other areas still under observation and review.

She is confident that KDM will be part of the government after PRN17, whether dominantly or as a ‘kingmaker’ that will influence the formation of the government.

“It is time for Sabah to be governed by an inclusive, competitive, and orderly government that prioritises the interests of the people.

“The people of Sabah are brave enough to make changes, and this has been proven; I am confident that the voices of the Sabah people, who are eager for change and renewal, will ‘resound’ in the upcoming PRN17,” she said.
