Free medical services for 300 in Kiulu

KOTA KINABALU: Over 300 Kiulu villagers are set to benefit from free medical services through an upcoming medical camp programme scheduled for Feb 25 in Kampung Tudan.

Organised by Tuaran Hospital in collaboration with Tuaran’s Malaysian Red Crescent Society and Kiulu Assemblyman Service Centre, the programme aims to enhance healthcare accessibility.

It will provide comprehensive medical services, including general medical check-ups, eye examinations, and dental screenings, all at no cost to the community.

On Wednesday, Tuaran Hospital director Dr Lydiarita M. Marajin met with Kiulu assemblyman Datuk Joniston Bangkuai to brief him on the programme.

Joniston expressed his enthusiastic support for the programme, emphasising its critical role in delivering much-needed healthcare services to rural villagers.

He highlighted that the programme is not confined to Kampung Tudan but will also benefit neighbouring villages like Poring, Sungoi, Romokon, and Baraba.

The programme anticipates the participation of 100 skilled medical practitioners, including doctors, dentists, and optometrists, alongside dedicated volunteers from non-governmental organisations.

The last medical camp held in Kampung Tudan was prior to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Joniston hoped that more medical camps will be organised in remote villages in Kiulu such as Wasai and Gonipis. – Talantang
