SANDAKAN: Friends of Sea Turtles Education and Research (FOSTER) takes great pride in announcing the unveiling of the Sepilok Jazz Academy, a groundbreaking initiative dedicated to nurturing jazz talent, particularly among the youth.
Scheduled for May 4, 2024, the launch is highly anticipated, not just within the state but particularly in Sandakan.
FOSTER’s President, Alexander Yee Kok Tsen, emphasized that the Sepilok Jazz Academy is not only a platform for experiencing and showcasing talent in the jazz genre but also a catalyst for participants’ involvement in healthy activities and personal development.
“Sandakan’s music talents and those from across Sabah and Malaysia are warmly invited to join this transformative program and make a significant impact on the world of jazz music,” declared Yee during the Sepilok Jazz Academy’s launch in Sandakan.
The program coincides with the 3rd edition of the Sepilok Jazz event on 6 & 7 September 2024, at the Rainforest Discovery Centre, Sepilok Sandakan.
The event promises various learning opportunities and stellar performances by talented artists.

In collaboration with Trinity Arts & Music Academy, they have organized the inaugural Sepilok Jazz Academy, offering an unforgettable experience for all participants.
Hence, FOSTER encourages music talents in Sandakan and beyond, especially the youth with an interest in experiencing and showcasing jazz music, to register and partake in this program.
Let’s collectively shape the Sepilok Jazz Academy into a platform for expressing our musical talents, supporting conservation efforts for sea turtles.
