KOTA KINABALU : Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Deputy President Datuk Seri Joachim Gunsalam reiterated that the party stands firmly alongside Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor to reclaim the 40 per cent  revenue share owed to the state by Putrajaya.

“Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) remains unwavering in its pursuit to reclaim the 40% revenue share owed to the State, he stressed.

He said the party is strongly committed in championing Sabah’s rights, citing PBS’s historical victories in state elections as a testament to this dedication.

Joachim emphasized that the 40% grant is not merely an aspiration but a fundamental right that PBS will steadfastly uphold.

As a pivotal member of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), the Deputy Chief  Minister said the party will always stand firmly woth Hajiji  in the ongoing discussions with Putrajaya to secure the rightful share for Sabah.

The recent legal developments, including lawyer Tengku Datuk Fuad Ahmad’s intervention application, have sparked debates regarding the Sabah government’s right to challenge the 40% special grant provisions.

Despite objections and legal complexities, PBS remains resolute in its mission to safeguard Sabah’s interests and ensure the fulfillment of the State’s rightful entitlement.

The Court of Appeal’s decision on the federal government’s appeal against the leave granted to the Sabah Law Society (SLS) underscores the ongoing legal battle surrounding the 40% grant issue.

PBS’s unwavering determination to fight for Sabah and its people’s rights continues to be a focal point in the quest for justice and fairness in revenue allocation, Joachim stressed
