USNO, SAPP to organise leadership training

KOTA KINABALU : United Sabah National Organisation (USNO) and Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) joined forces to orchestrate programs aimed at preparing the next generation of leaders to take the helm in Sabah.

The strategic measure is designed to cultivate and  set in motion a series of leadership and team-building initiatives.

The collaborative effort between USNO and SAPP was formalized during a meeting where a delegation from USNO, led by its president Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia, engaged in discussions with key leaders from SAPP at the party’s headquarters in Kota Kinabalu last Thursday.

The meeting which saw the participation of 18 leaders from USNO, was warmly received by the Supreme Councillors of SAPP, led by party president Datuk Seri Panglima Yong Teck Lee.

The discussions during the visit centered on crucial issues affecting Sabah, including territorial, energy, and food security.

Pandikar emphasized the importance of establishing a platform where seasoned politicians can mentor and pass on their knowledge to emerging leaders.

This transfer of experience aims to equip the future leaders with the skills and insights necessary to navigate the challenges faced by previous generations of Sabah leaders.

SAPP organising secretary Stephan Gaimin put forth a proposal for a team-building training camp to further enhance the leadership capabilities of young politicians.

Following deliberations with the media and the organizing committee of USNO, both political parties agreed that it would take the lead in organizing the camp.

Stephan highlighted the significance of such collaborative efforts among all GRS parties in fortifying the coalition and ensuring its readiness for the upcoming elections.

The leaders and participants the move is a  collective endeavor between USNO and SAPP and underscores a commitment to nurturing a new breed of leaders in Sabah, bridging the gap between established politicians and aspiring individuals.

By fostering a culture of mentorship and skill development, the GRS coalition sets a precedent for sustainable leadership growth and continuity in the region.
