PENAMPANG : – The Local Government and Housing Ministry (KKTP) is currently reviewing all relevant bylaws and ordinances, including those related to waste management.

Deputy Chief Minister II cum KKTP Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam, explained that this initiative is part of ongoing efforts to make Sabah cleaner and improve the quality of life for its people.

He said this when launching the “Bio Green Machine” at the Sabah Credit Corporation (SCC) building in Donggongon here today.

The “Bio Green Machine” is designed to process large quantities of organic or food waste, converting it into valuable by-products such as fertiliser.

Dr Joachim said the State Government, through KKTP, fully supports such innovative solutions because they not only contribute to a cleaner environment in Sabah but also have economic benefits.

The machine is locally manufactured, supporting the State’s economy.

He also encouraged eatery premise operators and food producers to adopt this technology, as it can significantly contribute to ease their problems and at the same time making Sabah a cleaner, more sustainable place to live.

The event also featured the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Redwin Technologies Sdn Bhd (RTSB), the sole supplier of the product, Sabah Credit Corporation (SCC), as the financier, and Eco Greenpia Sdn Bhd, the manufacturer of the “Bio Green Machine”.

Also present were the chairman of SICC, Datuk Seri Dr Yee Moh Chai; Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Datuk Taitim Tulas; Executive Chairman of Redwin Technologies Sdn Bhd, Dr Edwin Richard Sumpong; and Chief Executive Officer of Eco Greenpia Sdn Bhd, Yoon Chan Soo.
