Dr. Jeffrey, labelled the “greatest traitor,” seeks to portray himself as a hero within the sinking GRS, says Bung Moktar

KOTA KINABALU, Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, the Sabah UMNO chief, has criticised Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, the president of STAR, for attempting to portray himself as a hero within the struggling GRS coalition, a move he deems unsuccessful.

Bung expressed that Jeffrey’s recent remarks labelling other parties as traitors during the GRS Youth Launch event were inflammatory, lacking substance, and ultimately damaging to his own credibility.

As the chairman of Barisan Nasional (BN) Sabah, Bung asserted that BN has the right to contest and represent the aspirations of the people.

He reminded that Jeffrey Kitingan was once a member of Barisan Nasional, highlighting that history should not be forgotten.

Notably, Jeffrey had previously sought membership in UMNO, which was granted before his membership was revoked.

Bung lamented that Jeffrey hastily accuses others of treachery while he himself is regarded as the “greatest traitor” in Sabah. He pointed out that Jeffrey is notorious for his party-switching and betrayed his own brother during the 14th General Election due to his lust for power.

Bung advised Jeffrey to concentrate on more pressing issues within his own GRS party, such as the corruption scandal involving the Chief Minister of Sabah and GRS assembly members.

He criticised the GRS slogan “Our House, We Take Care” as an insult to the people of Sabah, given that the integrity of their governance is compromised by corruption.

He emphasised that the public is aware of the corruption scandal implicating nearly all cabinet members and officials within GRS, which appears to be a scheme to exploit and deceive the people of Sabah.

Bung questioned whether Jeffrey Kitingan realises that the GRS leaders involved in profit-sharing discussions and caught on video are indeed his own party members, not UMNO.
