Ex-Sabah Chief Minister Musa Aman becomes state’s 11th Yang di-Pertua Negeri

Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim (right) also  conferred the Seri Maharaja Mangku Negara award, which carries the title Tun, to the  former Sabah chief minister.

KUALA LUMPUR – Former Sabah chief minister Tan Sri Musa Aman has been appointed as the 11th governor of the state.   

He succeeded Tun Juhar Mahiruddin who has held the position since January 1, 2011.

His tenure, extended beyond the two-term limit following constitutional amendments in 2018, is set to end on December 31, 2024.  

Musa’s appointment will take effect on January 1, 2025.  

Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim presented the letter of appointment to the new state governor at Istana Negara today, reported Bernama. 

The former Sg Sibuga assemblyman also conferred the Seri Maharaja Mangku Negara honorary title, which carries the title “Tun”.  

Musa, 73, served as Sabah’s chief minister from 2003 to 2018. – scoop.com
