Ewon’s allegiance to Malaya-centred Pakatan Harapan a mystery

By C C Pung

PERHAPS, hopefully this will stir Sabahans into thinking and decide to resolve MA63 rather than harping on their different tunes.

I once saw some prospect in a certain Ewon Benedict on Sabah’s future political landscape.

As calls for independence get stronger in our neighbour Sarawak, I therefore find Ewon’s allegiance to Malaya-centred Pakatan Harapan a mystery.

Doesn’t he feel the Sabahan rising sentiments against Putrajaya?

Or, does he go by a different playback?

2025 is the next Sabah election.

Sabah-based parties are maneuvering openly towards alliance/s  of local parties.

Ewon heads Upko, a Sabah party.

His recent take over of the PKR–led PH coalition looked like a typical Malaya-engineered outcome that reeks ulterior motives.

UPKO is small fish in a small Sabah pond.

PH may head the Federal Government but it’s small fish in Sabah.

Whatever advantages Ewon thinks being PH Sabah Head will bring him is nullified by the intensifying ‘East Malaysian sentiments’.

It’s an evolved version of the anti-KL sentiments of the 80s that made then Sabah-hating Prime Minister think and that which sparked the intensification of his demography-altering ‘Projek IC’.

Stop being cowards.
