KOTA KINABALU : – The Sabah State Government, through the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment, will continue to prioritise business events recognising their vital role in driving economic growth and fostering collaboration across the Asia Pacific region.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor said that with the sector’s increasing influence in trade, investment, and knowledge exchange, there is strong support for initiatives that strengthen the regional business events ecosystem.
“As Asia Pacific continues to emerge as a global hub for innovation and industry development, platforms like Business Event in Sabah 2025 play a crucial role in shaping its future,” he said at the opening of the 2nd International Business Events Forum- BE In Sabah 2025 at the Sabah International Convention Centre here today.
His speech was delivered by Deputy Chief Minister/Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Jeffrey Kitingan.
“Conferences, trade exhibitions, and incentive programmes are no longer just platforms for networking. They are catalysts for economic transformation, knowledge exchange, and strategic partnerships.
“It is within this landscape that Business Events In Sabah 2025 emerges, reinforcing our collective vision of empowering Asia Pacific through business events.
“Business events do more than bring people together; they drive industries forward. They create platforms for investment dialogues, facilitate the entry of multinational corporations, and stimulate the growth of emerging sectors.
“The economic impact extends far beyond event halls – it strengthens supply chains, enhances workforce capabilities, and accelerates industry advancements,” he said.
The Chief Minister also noted that the presence of about 800 delegates from over 30 countries representing various trades and industries at this conference was a testament to its growing prominence as a key platform for regional and global engagement in the business events industry.
“Sabah is honoured to have the presence and participation of experts and leaders in the industry. Your strategic guidance will not only strengthen industry best practices but will also open doors for Sabah to engage with international markets, foster new alliances, collaborations, and elevate Sabah’s position within the global business events sector.
“I foresee that this networking will bring immense opportunities for participants to learn and share,” he said.
