In a single news bulletin of CNN and BBC, I learned : –
1) hackers on North Korra stole USD1.5 billion in cryptocurrency .
2) a certain rich man Elon Musk demanded US federal employees to submit a weekly report of what they done, or be sacked, and
3) the UK police cracks down on anti-social behaviour, including phone theft and phone snatching.
The United Kingdom, one time the colonisers of my homeland here in Borneo, the country thave me Shakespeare, a symbol of civility and everything proper, is being overcome by thievery,, vandalism, gangsters and littering that are synonymous broken and backward societies.
The sun has truly set on the British Empire!
And for dessert there’s this British Prince called Harry running around outside his UK along with his small time actress wife claiming to be global humanitarian and demanding (what gall!) To be addressed royally.
In the UAE Singapore and cities in China, experiments to test the safety of city streets have been carried out and results show participants could safely leave their hand held gadgets on cars or tables at cafesin the UK, CCTV captured motorcyclists snatch phones off pedestrians.
The US, desperately cling on to her self-proclaimed moniker as the policeman of the world, just allowed a rich man, a bit mad, to work on saving money and improve government efficiency.
Americans are revolting as the world looks in in horror. America likes to big mouth about it being a rule-based democracy.
Musk and his sidekick (yes, Trump the president isn’t in charge at all ) thumb their noses to rules of order.
Remember renaming Gulf of Mexico the Gulf of America?
Remember taking over Greenland?
Remember making Canada the 51st state of the US?
Remember taking over Gaza? Sounds like a freak in a James Bond movie.
The US is having nightmares over the strengthing of China and the emergence of a world where it no longer could claim primacy.
Insecurity is a terrible sickness of the mind. It gives rise to unfounded fears.
There’s much of that going on in Malaysia where an inferiority complex isbreeding insecurity, the desire to reassert entitlement, false claim of victimhood to justy punitive and retaliatory action against fictional enemies.
Don’t think that a Malaysian delusion cannot effect a superpower.
Decades ago when the computer was taking the world by storm, someone predicted the imminent end of the world when every cent you have un the bank is virtual.
Your land title has ceased to be a physical document, and your bank account is just a number.
The people who lost their krypto money to the North Koreans are still trying to find out if they have a recourse and if Mr Kim Jong Un’s men will own up.
It’s a topsy-turvy world marked by ridiculousness.
Just think: gay and lesbianism are becoming mainstream.
The gender arena is being invaded by wokeism, that calling yourself he or him can be disputed if not abhorred.
A she/he (probably capable of erection) can contest in women’s sports.
Same-sex marriage is legal in many countries. Please excuse me, I’m not anti this or that, I’m just challenged in navigating in what for me all my life was just cut-and -drymale and female.
Yes, the world is outliving me.
