KOTA KINABALU : – The silent majority is poised to significantly influence the state government in the upcoming elections.
Former Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak highlighted that although these voters may not express their opinions openly, their electoral choices will be crucial.
He mentioned that this silent majority encompasses swing voters who are not affiliated with any political party, young individuals seeking job opportunities and stability, as well as rural inhabitants focused on development and government assistance.
Salleh, who also holds the position of treasurer for Sabah UMNO, pointed out that urban dwellers concerned about economic challenges and the rising cost of living, along with moderate voters who favor stability over radical politics, are integral to this demographic.
In a recent Facebook post, he noted that the silent majority is likely to make their voting decisions based on a variety of factors, including economic conditions, particularly the cost of living and employment opportunities, development, political alliances, and the pursuit of Sabah’s autonomy.
