
Dr Huang…look forward to returning to Sabah. The state has so much to offer in terms of resources especially tourism value,
KOTA KINABALU : – The Consul General of The People’s Republic of China in Kinabalu, Dr Huang Shifang paid a courtesy call to Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Datuk Seri Panglima (Dr.) Musa Haji Aman at Istana Negeri Seri Kinabalu here today.
Dr Huang made the farewell call as her mission in Sabah is due to end this March.
Tun Musa thanked Dr Huang for her service during her mission and said Sabah will always welcome her return to the state.
He said since its establishment, the Chinese Consulate-General’s Office in Kota Kinabalu has made a significant contribution to the ties between China and Sabah.
“We are always open to hearing from Consul General on how to better facilitate trade, tourism, investment and other sectors, in line with a vision to bring greater prosperity to both China and Malaysia, and in particular Sabah,” he said.
He said Malaysia and Sabah in particular have enjoyed close ties and increased exchanges with many parts of China.
“This is evident by the number of Chinese tourists who visit this state, which has brought considerable economic benefits and spin-offs to Sabah,” he said.
Meanwhile, Dr Huang said China and Malaysia have a time-honored history of traditional friendship and today the relations have been further strengthened.
“I feel very fortunate to be posted to Sabah at this opportune time, as the two countries are enjoying even closer ties,” she said.
She also noted the warmth and hospitality of the Sabah people, as well as the courtesy and cooperation extended during her mission in the state.
“I also wish to extend my gratitude to Tun Musa for actively promoting relations with China from way back when he was still Chief Minister,” he said
Dr Huang said Tun’s support was clearly demonstrated by his presence at the recent Spring Festival event organized by the Consul General office.
