No Smoke Without Fire: Warisan’s Political Games Exposed

KOTA KINABALU :  -Sabahans must not be deceived.

The RM1.41 billion lawsuit against the Sabah government appears to be a publicity stunt with a political objective aimed at embarrassing the Chief Minister and the GRS State Government.

The timing is suspicious, the players involved have political ties, and the intent is clear—this is an attempt to undermine the Sabah government just as the state election approaches.

Chin Tek Ming, the lawyer representing the plaintiffs, has denied that this lawsuit is politically motivated.

However, his denial seems more like an admission. Chin is a known member of Warisan and is likely a candidate for the Api-Api or Luyang seat in the upcoming election.

His sudden public crusade against the state government raises an important question: If this were truly about justice, why now?

If Warisan was genuinely concerned about SFI’s workers and Sabah’s economy, why didn’t they take action when they were in power from 2018 to 2020?

Why was nothing done to revive SFI or address the workers’ plight during that time?

The truth is that Warisan showed little interest in resolving this issue—until it became politically advantageous.

This mirrors their opposition to the Kaiduan Dam, which was renamed the Papar Dam once Warisan assumed power.

This lawsuit is not about justice.

It reflects Warisan’s desperation to remain relevant and distract the public from their past failures.

They are aware that they have let down the people of Sabah and are now attempting to manipulate public sentiment to their advantage.

However, Sabahans are not easily fooled.

We can see through the political smokescreen, and we will not allow these tactics to obscure the real issues that matter.

Sabahans must recognize the deeper political motives behind the lawsuit and remain vigilant.

We should not allow the opposition to use the courts as a tool for political games.

The state government has been transparent in its handling of the SFI issue and has denied malfeasance in its actions.

This lawsuit serves as a political distraction, aiming to mislead the public and to embarrass the Chief Minister and the GRS government.

Sabahans deserve genuine solutions, not manufactured controversies meant to further Warisan’s election agenda.
