Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil today conveyed his condolences to Ritchie’s family, describing his passing as a great loss to the nation’s media fraternity.
“It is with great sadness that I extend my condolences to the family of the late James Alexander Ritchie, a highly respected veteran journalist who contributed immensely to the country’s journalism industry,” he said.
“His passing today is a profound loss, not only to his beloved family but also to the entire media community in Malaysia.
“With nearly 50 years of experience, he became an inspiration to many generations of journalists and leaves behind a meaningful legacy.
“His selection as the recipient of the National Journalists’ Day2024 Award, presented by the prime minister in Kuching, Sarawak, is a testament to the highest recognition of his contributions and dedication to the field. – NST
