KOTA KINABALU : – Datuk James Ligunjang said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor has shown a pragmatic and thoughtful approach in maintaining cooperation between GRS and PH, ensuring that local parties retain key decision-making roles.
The former Petagas assemblyman said this collaboration promotes a strategic and harmonious relationship that currently supports the stability of the Madani Government at the federal level.
“However, PH should be cautious and avoid overreaching in its ambition to increase seat allocations at the expense of GRS.”*
Such actions could upset the delicate balance within the coalition and weaken public support in Sabah,” James said in a statement today.
He pointed out that maintaining the current status quo is advisable for both GRS and PH, as it fosters political stability and allows for a concentrated focus on Sabah’s development in alignment with the Federal Constitution and MA63.
“PH should avoid overly ambitious pursuits that could unsettle GRS and the people of Sabah, potentially threatening the coalition’s stability and progress. “

James said UMNO’s past actions have caused significant distress to Sabah, rendering its acceptance by Sabahans unlikely.
