PAPAR : – Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) treasurer Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak emphasised that the slogan “Sabahan No 1” reflects BN’s true struggle — prioritising the interests of the people of Sabah.
“This is not an empty slogan. BN fights for the rights of Sabahans through real policies and development — not just promises, but actual delivery,” he said during a speech in Benoni, near here Saturday.
He also stressed that BN does not rely on sentiments but on hard work and sweat.
“We don’t come with money but with spirit and hard work. That’s what sets us apart,” he added.
According to him, BN Sabah moves in tandem with the Unity Government, with a clear direction — to ensure Sabah’s voice is a decisive one in national affairs.
The Radu Tatap Radu programme organised by UMNO Papar was officiated by the UMNO Sabah Chief, Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin.
The event was also attended by several UMNO Sabah leaders, including the Chief of UMNO Sepanggar Division, Datuk Yakub Khan; Chief of UMNO Tenom Division, Datuk Ramie Unggi; Chief of UMNO Papar Division, Datuk Jamal Nerubi; State Assemblyman for Pantai Manis, Datuk Tamin Zainal; and UMNO Supreme Council Member, Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin.
MEANWHILE the head of the Papar UMNO division, Datuk Jamal Nerubi, emphasised that all UMNO division leaders in Sabah are local citizens.
He stated that this demonstrates that UMNO Sabah is managed by the people of Sabah themselves.
According to a report from UMNO Sabah online, Jamal mentioned that UMNO is a national party led by the native sons of Sabah in this state, thereby rejecting the notion that the party is dominated by leaders from the Peninsula.
“UMNO Sabah leaders are also capable of leading and governing this state effectively.
“Never play with regional sentiments as it can disrupt the harmony of the diverse communities and religions in this state,” he said.
Jamal also asserted that UMNO Sabah leaders have the capability to govern this state well and urged that regional sentiments should not be exploited in local politics.
He further dismissed any attempts by certain parties to deny the rights of the people of Sabah to contest in any electoral seats.
“I am a Sabahan. No party should deny my rights as a Sabahan to contest in any electoral seat,” he asserted.
Jamal also said that the BN machinery in the Kawang state constituency (DUN) is now fully prepared to face the State Election (PRN).
