INANAM : – Warisan Inanam Division is now actively conducting training for its workers as a preparation to face the forthcoming State election.
“We are intensifying training programme to face the challenges of the polls, ” the divisional party’s political activist Lewis Wong said in a statement today.
He pointed out that party’s president Datuk Seri Panglima Mohd Shafie Apdal had announced the party fielding candidates in all the 73 state constituencies.
“Though we had been working, activated our election since last year, it’s time to double efforts to reach out to voters,” he said
And to enable to do that, Lewis said party’s members involved in elections duties must be given a comprehensive training.
“Through three main thrusts – policy discussions, campaign simulations and public opinion research.”
“We are strengthening the team’s ability to serve more effectively in the Inanam multiracial constituency,” Lewis said.
The 16th Sabah State Legislative Assembly will be automatically dissolved on Nov 11 this year – if it is not dissolved earlier.
The five-year term 16th Sabah State Assembly is calculated from the date of first sitting on Nov 12, 2020, making Nov 11, 2025, the end of the term.
If the assembly dissolves automatically on Nov 11, Sabah Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Musa Aman and the Election Commission (EC) would be formally notified of the matter.
An election for the state must then be held within 60 days from the date of dissolution.
The coming election will be the first time Warisan is fielding candidate in Inanam.
The party didn’t participate in the 2018 and 2020 elections.
It’s was a crowded participation in the 2020 polls.
A total of 10 candidates contested with Pero Galim of PKR emerging the winner polling 8,586votes.
Datuk William Majinbon of Parti Bersatu Sabah garnered 2,948 votes.
Jenny Chua who contested as an Independent obtained 2,346 votes.
Liberal Democratic Party fielded Tan Sri Chong Kah Kiat who polled 1,606 votes .
The other candidates list their respective election deposit.
They were Goh Fah Shun of Parti Gagasan (362votes), Regina Lim of Parti Cinta Sabah (291 votes), Achmad Noortaip ( 286votes).
Terrence Tsen of Anak Negeri polled (255 votes), Mohd Khairy Abdullah of as USNO Baru obtained 156 votes and Independent George Ngui only polled 54 votes.
