KOTA KINABALU : – Former Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Salleh Said Keruak has described the High Court ruling that upholds Sabah’s constitutional entitlement to 40% of federal revenue under Articles 112C and 112D of the Federal Constitution as a momentous occasion.
Expressing gratitude to the Sabah Law Society (SLS) for their commendable efforts, he stated that this is a crucial moment — not only for the legal community but for every Sabahan who values fairness, partnership, and adherence to the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).
“The ruling reinforces that Sabah’s rights are not just promises but constitutional assurances.
“These rights must be respected through good faith, transparency, and cooperation between the federal and state governments,” he remarked in his recent Facebook update.
Salleh expressed his hope that as we progress, this ruling will usher in a new era of mutual respect and constructive dialogue between Sabah and Putrajaya — inspired by the same spirit of unity that formed our Federation.
“This transcends a mere court decision — it serves as a reminder that justice and fairness should always be the cornerstone of our nation,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, former State assblyman Datuk James Ligunjangsaid the court’s decision stands as a testament to the rule of law and the rightful autonomy of Sabah, affirming that the federal government must respect the constitutional guarantees of the state’s rights to its fair share of national revenues.
He added that it was a victory not just for Sabah, but for justice, fairness, and the integrity of our constitutional framework.
“Let this landmark ruling be a catalyst for renewed trust, justice, and accountability.”
“Justice for Sabah’s people is not just an aspiration; it must be a reality. The time for action is now, ” James said.
