Highlights Million-Ringgit Track Record While Criticizing Rivals for “Only Showing Up at Election Time”
SANDAKAN: – As election fervor intensifies, Tanjong’s Papat KDM candidate Frankie Poon took his campaign directly to the residents of Bahara Island on Sunday.
He engaged in face-to-face discussions with villagers while showcasing two major development projects he previously delivered to the area
* a million-ringgit solar-powered water purification system
* and a student transportation subsidy program.
In a clear reference to rival candidates, Poon emphasized that his consistent presence and tangible work stand in stark contrast to those who “only appear when it’s election season.”

Addressing the community, Poon highlighted that during his tenure, he successfully secured and implemented a RM1 million solar-powered water purification system for Berhala Island.
The project has resolved the long-standing issue of clean drinking water for nearly 3,000 residents.
He stressed that the system not only improved public health but also uplifted the overall quality of life on the island.
In addition, Poon introduced a student transportation subsidy program, reducing the financial burden on families and enabling more children to travel by boat to schools in Sandakan.
This initiative, he noted, has helped secure the next generation’s right to education.
Challenging Rivals’ Contributions, Calling Out Parti Warisan for “Election-Season Visits”
Poon did not hold back in criticizing opposing candidates, particularly those from Parti Warisan Sabah.
“I want to ask those who are always criticizing—especially the candidate from Warisan—what have you actually done for Berhala Island?” he pressed.
“They only show up every five years during the election period, making empty promises. Once the election is over, those promises disappear.”
He urged villagers to base their voting decision on tangible results and to choose a representative who serves consistently—not one who only appears when votes are at stake.
Poon concluded by calling on voters to recognize the Rafflesia symbol and vote for Candidate No. 4, Frankie Poon, on November 29.
“Let us continue the work we have started,” he affirmed.
