TAMPARULI :  – United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (Upko) Honorary President and Tamparuli candidate, Datuk Seri Panglima Wilfred Madius Tangau, has expressed his readiness to forgive individuals and groups who have sought to tarnish his reputation during the 17th Sabah State Election campaign.

Madius said he was made aware of baseless remarks and personal attacks directed at him by opposition campaigners during their ceramah sessions.

“The allegations and accusations being spread are untrue and are merely aimed at misleading voters.

“We in Upko practise mature politics and do not attack any other candidates. Whatever the case, I am ready to forgive them,” he said in a statement.

He added that the public is now mature enough to discern truth from falsehood.

“Therefore, in this campaign, we choose to focus on Upko’s ‘Sabah First’ agenda, including our commitment to defend Sabah’s 40 per cent net revenue entitlement and to ensure the full implementation of the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) for Sabah’s future.

“I offer principled, integrity-driven, and corruption-free leadership. My focus is on the people’s development, not on responding to personal attacks,” he said.

Madius also called for the election campaign to be conducted in a mature, respectful, and harmonious manner to safeguard unity in Tamparuli and across Sabah.
