❤️ FROM the heart of Inanam, a remarkable leader has emerged, embodying the spirit of Sabah and the strength of its people.
YB Edna Majimbun’s journey is one of unwavering dedication, selfless service, and historic achievement, culminating in her recent election as the first female assemblywoman for Inanam.
This milestone is not just a personal triumph for Edna but a moment of pride for all who believe in the power of leadership and the importance of representation.
It is a testament to the fact that women’s leadership is not just possible but essential for a vibrant and progressive society.
Edna’s story began long before her entry into politics. As a young sumandak, she captured the hearts of many when she won the Unduk Ngadau Api-Api title in 1997.

This early recognition was more than a beauty pageant; it was an opportunity for Edna to connect with Kadazandusun elders and learn about the impact of policy on poverty in Sabah.
The values and insights gained during this time would shape her future endeavors and instill in her a deep sense of responsibility towards her community.
Edna draws her inner strength from her parents, Datuk Eric Majimbun from Pomotodon Inanam and Datin Sylvia Damasus Lobini Siap from Pogunon Penampang, whose guidance and support have been instrumental in her journey.

She also learned valuable lessons by assisting her father, Datuk Eric Majimbun, and her uncle, Datuk William Majinbun, in their respective roles, gaining firsthand experience in leadership and community service.
In March 2021, Edna achieved another significant milestone, becoming the first Kadazandusun woman to be appointed as Ketua Daerah (District Chief) of Kota Kinabalu. This role allowed her to deepen her understanding of local governance and community needs, further solidifying her commitment to serving the people of Sabah.
Edna’s commitment to community well-being extends beyond her official duties.

She has been an ardent advocate for mental health awareness, promoting the cause through the “Dari Sudut Psikologi JJSM” group.
Her passion for supporting mental health reflects her holistic approach to leadership and her dedication to the well-being of those around her.
Born in Kota Kinabalu, Edna’s educational journey took her through SRJK Chung Hwa Likas, SK Pomotodon Inanam, SMK Likas, and SM All Saints Likas.
She furthered her studies at Stamford College Kota Kinabalu, earning a Professional Diploma with UTM. Now, she proudly holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from UTM, demonstrating her belief in lifelong learning and personal growth.
Married in 2003 and blessed with three children, Edna is fluent in Kadazandusun, Malay, English, and Chinese.
Her diverse linguistic skills enable her to connect with a wide range of people, fostering inclusivity and understanding across different communities.
Before assuming her role as Ketua Daerah, , Edna was a trained hotelier, rising to the position of Operations Manager in a prestigious Sabah resort.
Later, she embraced entrepreneurship, owning the “The Nuluhon Garden” tourism attraction.
These experiences have provided her with valuable insights into the business world and the importance of economic development.
Edna’s path took a significant turn when she decided to assist her father, OKK Datuk Eric Majimbun, who was then the “Ketua Daerah Kota Kinabalu.” Working alongside her father, she immersed herself in Native Adat policy and ethics, preparing her for her future role and solidifying her understanding of the traditions and customs of her people.
Now, as the YB for Inanam, Edna brings a wealth of experience, a deep-rooted commitment to her community, and a clear vision for the future.
Her journey from Unduk Ngadau to Ketua Daerah to YB is a testament to her resilience, dedication, and unwavering belief in the power of service.

Regardless of her political affiliation, whether under the government or in the opposition, it is Edna Majimbun’s intrinsic personality, unwavering integrity, and profound commitment to her community that truly define her.
She has won the hearts of the people through her genuine care and dedication.
As her cousin, I am immensely proud of you, Edna ❤️.
Your courage, resilience, and unwavering commitment to serve have already made history.
I firmly believe your remarkable journey is just the beginning that one day, you will rise to become a Minister, Sabah’s CM, and who knows, perhaps even the PM of Malaysia.
Your leadership is a source of hope and a powerful reminder that women can lead with strength, wisdom, and heart.
Keep shining, because the best is yet to come. Sabah is truly fortunate to have you.
Syabas to YB Edna Majimbun! Congratulations on your extraordinary achievement!
