KUKUSAN, TAWAU – UMNO Sabah has urged its members and the broader community to embrace unity and avoid divisions based on political affiliations, emphasizing that religious and social harmony should transcend partisan lines.
Speaking at a UMNO Sabah Zone 6 Ramadan breaking fast event in Kukusan, Tawau, Datuk Seri Dr. Salleh Said Keruak who is the UMNO Sabah Treasurer stressed the importance of strengthening bonds among Sabahans despite political differences.
“There are those who are in national parties and others in local parties, but this should not divide us. Our shared faith, values, and aspirations for a better Sabah must always come first,” he said.
He also warned against elements attempting to sow discord by exploiting these differences, urging the community to remain vigilant.
“Some want to separate us simply because we are in different political camps. But we must not fall into this trap. What matters is our collective goal to ensure Sabah continues to develop and its people prosper.”
The speech highlighted that Sabah’s progress hinges on political stability and cooperation among all parties.
“The focus should be on what unites us—economic development, better infrastructure, and social welfare—not on what divides us. Ramadan is a time of reflection, and it serves as a reminder that we must put aside our differences for the greater good.”
