Phoong explores logistics and investment opportunities with J&T Express

KUALA LUMPUR : – Sabah Minister of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Phoong Jin Zhe, today paid a working visit to the headquarters of J&T Express (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd here to explore potential investment opportunities and logistics enhancements in Sabah.

The visit underscores the Ministry’s commitment to fostering strategic partnerships that can drive industrial growth, improve logistics efficiency, and support local entrepreneurs in Sabah.

With logistics playing a crucial role in economic development, discussions focused on how J&T Express could contribute to enhancing connectivity and facilitating Sabah’s export capabilities.

A key highlight of the meeting was the potential for J&T Express to invest in expanding its operations in Sabah, strengthening last-mile delivery networks, and improving supply chain efficiency to support businesses across various industries.

Phoong emphasized the importance of robust logistics infrastructure in boosting Sabah’s export sector, particularly for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) seeking wider market access.

“This engagement with J&T Express is an important step toward enhancing logistics capabilities and attracting investments that will benefit Sabah’s industrial landscape. A more efficient logistics network will directly support our entrepreneurs and open new opportunities for export growth,” said Phoong.

The Minister expressed his appreciation for J&T Express’ rapid growth and operational improvements, noting that he was impressed with the company’s progress and commitment to innovation.

Present at the meeting were J&T Express’ Vice President Vincent Low and Operations Director Andy, who provided insights into the company’s advancements and its vision for further strengthening logistics services in Sabah.

The meeting proved to be highly productive, with both parties exchanging valuable perspectives on potential collaborations to enhance Sabah’s industrial and export sectors.

The Ministry remains committed to fostering partnerships that will bring tangible benefits to Sabah’s industrial and entrepreneurial ecosystem, ensuring long-term economic progress for the state.
