Bags and hair cut for students in Kepayan

KOTA KINABALU : – The commitment to ensuring a better start to the school year for students has been reinforced
through the collaboration between ADUN Kapayan office with Yayasan Bank Rakyat (YBR).

A total of 1200 school bags was distributed to 8 schools in Kapayan, providing students with the
necessary support to begin their studies with greater enthusiasm and readiness.

This initiative is not merely an act of giving children from B40 families but an investment in the education of the younger generation.

Jannie expressed her appreciation to Yayasan Bank Rakyat for its unwavering support of
education, as well as to all teachers and parents who continuously strive to provide the best
opportunities for their children.

In addition to the school bag distribution, YBR has also allocated funds to sponsor free haircuts
for 500 students.

This initiative will be carried out between March 12 and March 26 at five barber shops in Penampang.

Present at today’s ceremony was Datuk Philip Lasimbang, YBR Chairman who praised the
ADUN Kapayan’s consistent effort to assist communities in Penampang.

The ceremony also saw the presentation of cheques to four NGOs, totalling RM30,000 from
Jannie’s Sentuhan Kasih fund.

The recipients were:

  1. Sabah Kinabalu Pink Ribbon – Supporting breast cancer patients.
  2. Sabah Society for the Deaf – Advocating for the rights of the hearing-impaired.
  3. Seri Mengasih Center – Providing special education for children with disabilities.
  4. Pertubuhan Pemulihan Dalam Komuniti – Assisting individuals with disabilities to achieve
    independence.

These contributions serve as a recognition of the vital role these organizations play in supporting those in need.

Jannie said efforts to bring more benefits to the people of Kapayan will continue, but such initiatives require the collective support of all stakeholders.
She hoped that ongoing cooperation will further strengthen community development and extend
assistance to a greater number of people in the future.
