Time for “political bravery” to be demonstrated in Sabah

Shafie Apdal…Sabah does not need more promises. Sabah needs action.

KOTA KINABALU : – Former Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Mohd Shafie Apdal emphasised that it is essential for political bravery to be exercised in Sabah.

He noted that the future of Sabah hinges on the bold actions taken today.

“We do not reject development. We do not oppose investment. What we demand is political courage.

“Courage to be fair, to be transparent, and to prioritise the interests of the people of Sabah above all else,” he remarked.

The Senallang assemblyman made these comments during the debate on the TYT’s policy speech at the Sabah State Assembly session here on Monday.

Shafie urged the government to stop hiding behind statistics and instead take bold actions for the benefit of the people.

“Do not merely focus on numbers on paper. Listen to the voices of the people on the ground. The voices of farmers, fishermen, teachers, youth, and rural women. They are the heartbeat of Sabah.

“Sabah does not need more promises. Sabah needs action. And that action will only occur when there is the courage to speak the truth and act for what is right,” he stated.

Shafie also raised various issues related to the interests of the people of Sabah, including concerns about water, electricity, roads, education, health, food security, and economic matters.
