KOTA KINABALU : – Kiulu assemblyman Datuk Joniston Bangkuai has proposed setting up Kiulu Retired Principals and Teachers Association to give former educators a platform to continue contributing ideas towards community development.

He said the experience and perspectives of retired teachers remain relevant and can play a role in driving both educational and community development in Kiulu.

“With this association, retired teachers will have a dedicated platform to keep serving the community and contribute ideas towards advancing Kiulu.

“Their experience is invaluable in ensuring that development plans meet the needs of the people,” he said at the Majlis Lambaian Kasih Jasamu held to honour 5 retiried principals from the Kiulu and Nabalu zones, on Thursday.

The ceremony was jointly organised by the Kiulu Zone Principals Association and the Nabalu Zone Principals Association, in collaboration with the Kiulu ADUN Service Centre.

In his speech, Joniston expressed his appreciation to all principals and teachers for their dedication in educating the children of Kiulu, describing their role as a vital foundation for the district’s growth.

He stressed that the Kiulu ADUN Service Centre has consistently prioritised education and supported programmes that benefit teachers and students alike.

He added that collaboration between community leaders and educators, including those who have retired, is vital to sustain the transformation already underway in Kiulu.

He therefore invited retired educators from Kiulu to continue working closely with the ADUN Service Centre.

At the ceremony, Joniston presented certificates of appreciation to five retired principals in recognition of their service and contributions.
