KOTA KINABALU : Sabah also know in the tourism world as ‘The Land Below The Wind’ has emerged as one of the top destinations for travelers seeking nature-base activities, according to travel writer Rhiannon Bryant.

In one of his articles posted in social media platform last month, she reported that travelers from Asean region and elsewhere also prefer to visit Sabah for cultural experiences, and sustainabke tourism.

Rhiannon said Sabah offers a diverse range of attractions, from beautiful beaches and abundant marine life to stunning sunsets and a natural ambiance that promotes conservation and preservation efforts.
One of the signature attractions in Sabah, Rhiannon said is the Maliau Basin, known for its pristine beauty and rich biodiversity.
“Visitors can also explore the Bohey Dulang island, Danum Valley Conservation Area, Mount Kinabalu, and the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, which are all key highlights of the region,she added.
For wildlife enthusiasts, she said Sabah provides opportunities for wildlife safaris along the Kinabatangan River and Weston River, where rare bird species, crocodiles, and even orangutans can be spotted.
Additionally, the Kinabalu Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Geopark, offers a tranquil rainforest setting and the chance to experience the world’s highest via ferrata, Mountain Torq.
For diving enthusiasts, the report mrntioned that Sipadan Island, a short flight from Kota Kinabalu, is renowned as one of the world’s best dive sites, featuring a diverse marine ecosystem with corals, fish species, and sea turtles.
The island’s underwater world is a paradise for certified divers with its crystal-clear waters and vibrant marine life.
