China’s Nanping City Delegation  to visit  Malaysia

SANDAKAN : –  A delegation from China’s Nanping City will be visiting Sandakan next month.

The purpose is to lay the foundation for the two cities to become potential sister cities in the future.

It is also aimed to strengthen cooperation between the two cities in the fields of culture and tourism.

Nanping City is located in the northern part of Fujian, consisting of 2 districts, 3 cities, and 5 counties (Yanping District, Jianyang District, Shaowu City, Wuyishan City, Jian’ou City, Shunchang County, Pucheng County, Guangze County, Songxi County, and Zhenghe County).

It has a population of 3.19 million and covers an area of 26,300 square kilometers, making it the largest administrative city in Fujian by area.

The general manager of Trade and Investment Unit of the Sabah Development Berhad Liau Fui Fui met the Sandakan Municipal Council (MPS) president Henry Idol to discuss the plans for the delegation while in Sandakan.

Liau Fui Fui stated that the Nanping City delegation will arrive in Sandakan in August, with plans to pay courtesy call on the President of MPS.

They will also jointly hold the “Nanping-Sandakan Cultural and Tourism Cooperation Exchange Symposium.”

The symposium will focus on in-depth discussions on cooperation in culture, tourism, economy, and other areas, promoting mutual understanding and friendly exchanges between the two cities.

The President of MPS warmly welcomed the visit of the Nanping City delegation and looked forward to further promoting cooperation between the two cities in various fields through this exchange, achieving mutual benefits and win-win results.

Liau, who is also Organising Secretary of Sabah Democratic Action Party, said the  visit is an important step in the friendly relations between the two cities.

“It will also be a significant move to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between local governments in Malaysia and China,” Liau said.

Both sides hope to explore more cooperation opportunities through this visit, promoting joint development in the fields of culture and tourism between the two cities
