KUNDASANG, Ranau : – The Kundasang War Memorial Park here is now a ‘must visit’ place, especially to foreign tourists.
“We are receiving non-stop visitors,” the park’s curator Sevee Charuruks said Sunday.
Last week 100 Australian soldiers dropped by at the Kundasang War Memorial to pay tribute to their fallen heroes.
They were in Sabah to participate in a war games.
They were in Kota Belud when they came to know about the war memorial park.

“They come to the Kundasang War Memorial, eager to learn about the Sandakan -Ranau tragic death march,” Charuruks said.
He added that the soldiers decided to visit and pay respects to the Australian soldiers that died in the death march 79 years ago.
The Kundasang War Memorial is a memorial which is dedicated to the British and Australian soldiers who died in the Sandakan POW camp during their death marches to Ranau.
Besides that, it also recognises the suffering and sacrifice of the native population of Sabah.
