Sabah Tourism Golf Challenge  set to Tee Off Dec 5-7

KOTA KINABALU : – The eagerly anticipated Sabah Tourism Golf Challenge is scheduled to take place from December 5 to 7, 2024, promising a spectacular event for golf enthusiasts across Southeast Asia.

This prestigious tournament will be hosted at three of Sabah’s finest golf courses –  Sutera Harbour Marina Golf & Country Club, Dalit Bay Golf &Country Club, Nexus Golf Resort Karambunai.

“We are thrilled to host the Sabah Tourism Golf Challenge and look forward to welcoming golfers from all over Southeast Asia to experience the beauty and hospitality of Sabah,” Tourism, Culture and Environment Assistant Minister Datuk Joniston Bangkuai told a Press conference here Friday.

He said this event not only promotes the sport of golf but also highlights Sabah as a premier travel destination.

The event aims to bring together 360 golfers from across the region, offering an exceptional opportunity for both individual and team competitions.

“As of today, participants from South Korea, China, Singapore and the Philippines have already registered, with more expected to join, showcasing the widespread appeal and excitement surrounding this event, ” Joniston said.

With a total prize pool of up to RM 100,000, including a special hole-in-one prize, competitors will have the chance to showcase their skills and vie for significant rewards.

The event also promises to be a star-studded affair, featuring appearances from renowned golf celebrities band influencers, including Novita Lam, adding a touch of glamour and excitement to the proceedings.

The Sabah Tourism Golf Challenge is not just a competition but a celebration of the sport and the stunning landscapes that Sabah has to offer.

Joniston who is also Sabah Tourism’ Board chairman said participants and spectators alike can expect an unforgettable experience filled with thrilling golf action and vibrant cultural exchanges.
