Grape Corner at Selangor Fruits Valley ready to accept visitors

Students at the Selangor Fruits Valley’s Grape Corner

KOTA KINABALU : – A few years ago, a delegation from the Selangor Government led by their Exco Member for Agriculture, Izham Hashim visited the Jon Grapgevine & Fig Garden at Kg Bantayan, Tamparuli, Sabah.

An Exco is equivalent to a Sabah Minister.

It was to explore the possibility of starting a Grape Corner at the Selangor Fruit Valley (SFV).

A Joint-Venture followed, whereby the Selangor Government will provide the land and related assistance and JGFG the expertise.

Fast forward to today, the Grape Corner at SFV is finally ready to accept visitors and had its soft opening recently.

Each visitor is only allowed to pick 500 grams of ripe grapes.

“Our worst fear came true as after the opening day, all ripe grapes in both green houses were picked due to the large crowd.”

“Now we have to wait for the grapes in the other green houses to ripen,” said JGFG technical advisor Jontih Enggihon.

The Grape Corner is expected to be declared open by His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor soon.
