KOTA KINABALU : – Former Press Secretary to the Sabah Chief Minister, Datuk Teddy Chin bumped into former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport recently.
Chin was on his way back to Kota Kinabalu after attending a Board Meeting of Berjaya Qhazanah Sabah Sdn Bhd (BQSSB) in Kuala Lumpur.
Tun said he was in the airport just to “Jalan Jalan” or Look See Look See.
Chin told Tun that he ever worked at the Prime Minister’s Department (JPM) when Tun was PM.
Chin was Press Secretary to the Minister in JPM, the late Datuk Dr James Ongkili in 1983-84.
At that time, JPM was still at Jalan Dato’ Onn behind Bank Negara. Ongkili was in Block C, the DPM was at Block B, and PM Block A.
1984-85 Chin was Private Secretary to the Minister of Justice, also Ongkili as Tun gave him an additional portfolio.
The Tun, despite almost 100 years old, seemed to be able to remember what Chin told him.
