Sabah BN and PH holds meeting on working together for the upcoming PRN17

KOTA KINABALU: Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan (PH) Sabah convened an informal meeting today, believed to be related to their collaboration in preparation for the 17th Sabah State Election (PRN17).

According to a joint statement released after the meeting, the discussion was aimed to foster a spirit of unity in line with the understanding between the leadership of both parties, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

During the meeting, both parties expressed their aspirations to ensure that the foundation of their cooperation would benefit the people and the state of Sabah.

“To this end, both parties agreed to establish a communication platform to refine their collaborative efforts, including being open to forming relationships with other parties as they prepare for the upcoming Sabah State Election.

“Both parties also concurred that any form of understanding to move forward would be determined through discussions and mutual agreement among the leadership of both parties,” the statement indicated.

The meeting was attended by BN Sabah Chairman Datuk Seri Bung Mokhtar Radin; PKR Sabah Chairman Datuk Mustapha Sakmud; and President of the Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup.

Also present were DAP Sabah Vice Chairman Jannie Lasimbang; MCA Sabah Chairman Datuk Teah Heok Kuin; Deputy President of the United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (UPKO) Datuk Donald Mojuntin; MIC Sabah Chairman Peer Muhmad Kadir; and Chairman of Amanah Sabah Lahirul Latigu.
