KOTA KINABALU: The Inanam KDM party division is calling on the president of STAR and Tambunan Assemblyman, Datuk Seri Panglima Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, to provide detailed information on the proposed KDM College in Tambunan.
Inanam KDM chief Datuk George Guntarik said Dr Jeffrey should informed the people of Sabah regarding the initiatives he has undertaken to establish KDM College following the groundbreaking ceremony held in 2012.
Guntarik stressed that, as a champion of Sabah’s rights and a representative of Tambunan, DrJeffrey is duty-bound to clarify the current status of the project after 12 years since its approval.
“Inanam KDM hopes that KDM College can be realised to strengthen the education sector as promised, rather than being mere political rhetoric,” he said in a statement today.
The establishment of KDM College was officially launched with a groundbreaking ceremony by then Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak at Dataran Pisompuruan Tambunan in June 2012.
During his speech at the groundbreaking event, Najib noted that the college aims to enhance the participation of the people, particularly the KDM community, in the national education landscape.
Describing the establishment of the college as a significant step, Najib affirmed that the Federal Government supports the development of KDM College, which is set to be built in Kaingaran, Tambunan, thereby providing greater opportunities for students from rural Sabah to pursue their education at the college
