Hajiji: Sabah PH’s leadership change will not hinder cooperation with GRS

CM congratulates Ewon on his election as new PH Sabah chairman

KOTA KINABALU : – Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor said the leadership change in Pakatan Harapan (PH) Sabah would not hinder Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) from maintaining good relations.

He emphasised that the collaboration is vital for the benefit of the state and its people.

The relationship of cooperation, unity of PH, GRS will continue to be strengthened,” he said.

Hajiji congratulated UPKO president Datuk Ewon Benedick who has been elected as the new PH Sabah Chairman to replace Datuk Seri Christina Liew.

“Congratulations to Ewon for becoming chairman and we hope that the relationship of cooperation and unity between the parties in Sabah, especially PH and GRS, will continue to be strong.

“Friends in PH are leaders that we have worked with before, so we will continue this effort,” he said when met by reporters after the Launching Ceremony of the Tuaran District Economic Development Strategic Plan 2024-2035, Sulaman Transformation Action Plan, Penimbawan Village Fishing Community Empowerment Plan, & Application Launch & Retrack Book at the Sabah International Convention Center here, today.

Hajiji also hopes that the component parties in PH will strengthen cooperation with GRS for the good of the state of Sabah.

“In PH there are DAP, PKR, UPKO and Amanah, so mixed with GRS we also have many parties, this cooperation is for the good of the state of Sabah,” he said.

Ewon, who is Federal Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister has been elected as the new PH Sabah chairman at the party’s general meeting on Sunday.

He succeeds Datuk Seri Panglima Christina Liew who led PH Sabah since 2017 and will lead PH Sabah for the 2024-2026 term.

PH Sabah is made up of UPKO, PKR Sabah, DAP Sabah and Amanah Sabah.
