Prime Minister personally chairing the MA63 meeting in Sabah on Sept 12

Razeef Rakimin…believes that the meeting will yield positive outcomes or good news for the people of Sabah.

KOTA KINABALU: All attention will be focused on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as he personally takes the helm of the MA63 meeting in Sabah on September 12.

This crucial gathering aims to address the Malaysian Agreement 1963, with a particular emphasis on the 40% revenue allocation to Sabah as stipulated in Article 112C of the Federal Constitution.

While some local political figures express skepticism about the Prime Minister’s capacity to tackle this pressing issue, PKR deputy information chief Razeef Rakimin remains hopeful.

He believes that the upcoming MA63 meeting will yield positive outcomes or good news for the people of Sabah.

“We, in Sabah PKR, firmly believe that PMX has the potential to deliver meaningful results for Sabah.

“Our hope is that the MA63 discussions will effectively resolve any barriers preventing the full realization of the agreement,” he said during a press conference here today.

He argued that since PKR became a national party in 199, it has been advocating for the state’s rights, including the MA63 issue mentioned in article 5.8 of its constitution.

Razeef stated that Anwar, as prime minister for more than a year and eight months, has made significant progress.

“The pace of progress under Anwar’s leadership is clearly faster than before… I think with a round table discussion between Federal governnment and state governments of Sabah and Sarawak, this long-standing issue of 40 per cent demand can be resolved,” he said.

Meanwhile, Razeef stated that the party will use either the PH or PKR logo for the upcoming state election, dismissing the idea that they would use the GRS logo as some have suggested online.

Additionally, Razeef shared that the party will hold the Keadilan Round Table Discussion on MA63 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) on September 15.

He mentioned that this discussion aims to address unresolved issues related to MA63 and will include representatives from both Sabah and Sarawak.
