Sabah once again hosts the Miss World Malaysia 2024 competition

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah will once again host the Miss World Malaysia 2024 pageant, further enhancing the state’s image on the international stage.

The Minister of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship, Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe said, such organising is very much in line with the direction of the state government administration today which wants such efforts to be empowered.

“This event can not only help attract foreign investors, but also tourists to the state.

“We want various events to be held in this state to be able to further empower the tourism sector,” he said when met by reporters at a dinner with all the finalists of Miss World Malaysia 2024 hosted by The Crab House Seafood Restaurant, on Tuesday.

He said, the variety of international level programs held in Sabah can improve the state’s image at the Asian level and around the world.

“I want to see Sabah become more famous and highly praised at the international level,” he said.

This year, a total of 11 finalists will compete in the finals of Miss World Malaysia 2024 which will be held at the Sabah International Convention Center (SICC) Kota Kinabalu on 3 December 2024.

The Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment, Datuk Seri Panglima Christina Liew is expected to be the guest of honor at the ceremony.

Like last year, the four finalists of this competition are from Sabah. They are Kelly Eleanor Tseu, Fillonie Francis, Lyn Sinsua and Tiffany Vaishenevi Pillai Ragupathi.

The other participants were Car Menn Lee from Selangor, Hantze Liow (Kuala Lumpur), Nandhini Sundaram (Kedah), Nivashini Wadivello (Kuala Lumpur), Plohmeena Sachpreet (Kuala Lumpur), Taanusiya Chetty (Kuala Lumpur), Sheena Devayani (Kuala Lumpur).

Also present were the CEO of HyperLive Entertainment and the National Director of Miss World Malaysia, Dr Sean Wong and the owner of The Crab House Seafood Restaurant, Ken Oh and other guests of honour.

Among the activities that the finalists will do before retiring on December 3 next are cleaning the beach on Dinawan Island, the SEED HEART Program, at Dewan Seri Sulaman Tuaran, Food Aid Charity in Kampung Kironggu, Inanam, among others.
