KOTA KINABALU : – An annual tradition of staffs and patients of Nobel Dailysis Centre, Kota Kinabalu – exchanging of gifts during Christmas.
This year’s is the repeats of yesteryears’ spread of joy with more participants than previous seasons.
Gifts placed around the Christmas Tree are heartily contribution of staffs and patients, irrespective of their religious beliefs.
Sharing is a fundamental virtue that can bring happiness and joy to both the person sharing and the person receiving.
Having togather for years, the Dailysis Centre, as their second home, staffs and patients celebrates Hari Raya, Pesta Kaamatan, New Year, Chinese New Year every year without fail.
Christmas is a day of meaning and traditions, a special day spent in the warm circle of family and friends.
A staff said Christmas is the season of joy, of holiday exchanged greetings, of gift-giving and of families united.
The greatest gift is the gift of giving and no one has ever become poor by giving.
“It’s not how much we give, but how much love we put into giving.
The joy of sharing is a treasure ” said Judedith Qasie, the initiator of the gifts exchange programme.
Christmas is doing a little something extra for someone and a day that holds all time together.

A patient who had been undergoing dailysis at NDC since 2018 said he is used to celebrating Christmas at the centre.
“Sad not with families but the harmonious staff and patients relationship at NDC helps cure the longing with love one during the festive season, ” he said.
He added that the exchanging of gifts during Christmas bring the celebrations at home ‘live’ at the centre.
“I am on the Monday, Wednesday, Friday (1.3.5) shift, so this year’s Christmas for me is in the NDC Ward,” he said.
